A Bearpaw, four of them

Yesterday morning (Sunday) I worked breakfast. That means I got to get up at 4:50 in the morning so I could be at work by 5:30. It also means I got to sleep in a half hour and that there was enough light to see the road without using a flashlight as I cycled to work.
The night before, I saw on facebook that two other food service members were going to try and find a bear that night. After four or five years, the bears are finally starting to return to Hume, and the native Hume residents are taking advantage of that to catch a sight of them. They usually like to hang out around the trash compactors, oddly enough, sitting around and sharing laughs over dinner leftovers (the bears do, not the Hume staff).
In the morning when I woke up, I saw last night's bear hunt had been successful. I updated my facebook status to something about going bear hunting myself that night, and I proceeded to work. The ride was uneventful, allbeit cold. My usual parking slot for my bike was open, but then again, at 5:20 in the morning, so was the whole bike rack. I head to the kitchen, starting to work through everything I needed to do for breakfast. As I'm passing the clothing company building, I hear a poking around in a trash can from down the side of the building. It wasn't the typical rustling racoons make, it was like the big paw of a big animal. I turned the corner and saw the behind of a black bear scurrying away up the stairs, leaving behind his trash mess (typical.). A moment later I saw him running away up the hill. All the same, I made it to the kitchen door faster than I make it out on my Friday night.
