First Catch!

Because of the cost, I wasn't planning on getting a fishing license this year... until I saw the size of some of the fish they were going to stock the lake with. Then I quickly changed my mind. Since the middle of the month, I've gone shore fishing three times and caught nothing. Then today I was able to procure a rowboat and rowed to the far side of the lake by the water retention device (this is, after all, a Christian camp and cussing is prohibited). Three hours and five blisters later, I finally got my first catch of the season! Measuring in at 12 & 3/4", it was a fine first catch. It furnished tonight's dinner, along with fresh pasta salad and cornbread muffins. Hopefully sometime this season I'll land one of the 24"+ monsters I know are down there...
