Is tomorrow really going to be August already?!? Where did this summer/year go? It seems like just last month that it was August and I was accepting a full-time job offer to work at Hume Lake, and here it is nearly a year later. Where does the time go?

Mouse in da House!

This evening, I happened to glance over my shoulder randomly while I was on the computer and lo and behold, there was a little field mouse exploring my kitchen floor! Seeing me, they quickly vacated the kitchen to the next logical place a field mouse would go: beneath the fridge. So, as of right now, to the best of my knowledge he is still under there. My roomie and I set up a corridor leading out the open front door so he can get out. In theory, at least. I'm just hoping the mouse beneath the fridge and the open door doesn't attract larger predators during the night... maybe it's time to put a bottom on the screen door.
